Despite the heat (97 degrees Fahrenheit, 36 degrees Celsius), Strut is out on the back deck of Vingilótë, ready to repel boarders. Spring is overseeing from the couch:

Strut, Spring, and Belle staying cool. Spring, obviously, helping Irene work (you can just make out her laptop), while Belle seeks safety with Strut, and, like Strut, to keep an eye on Mary who’s cooking.

Strut had his one forepaw shaved for an IV for the MRI, the next week the other for the IV for his surgery, and the hind paw for another, and his chest from his throat to between his forelegs for the big zipper they put in. It’s growing back in now, to the point where…
Strut has figured out that sprawling against the metal front of the freezers and fridge drawers helps him stay cool. He’s quite comfortable.
Strut and spring are in full “spread out and get as much cooling” mode, sprawled out on the nice, soft RaptorDeck decking, in the shade, bit of a breeze.
Our friends Dave and Mary are on the boat with us, fleeing the heat in Seattle, so, of course, Sunday featured brunch with a new egg dish (a deviled eggs variant), hot animal protein (pork links), a locally made quite awesome banana nut bread, and mimosas.
