A book trader in the dealers’ room at the World Science Fiction Convention in Dublin just offered me 1,500 British pounds for a book I bought in the (early?) 90s in Hay-on-Wye for 1 (one!) British pounds!
It is my most beloved copy of The Lord Of The Rings: single volume, printed on silk paper, gold edged, bound in black leather with red leather details and the tree and silmarils inlaid on the cover in silver and gold, with a hand drawn map of Middle Earth, drawn in red ink, as described Bilbo had. It’s in a matching black leather slip case.
