For our Thanksgiving meal…

For our Thanksgiving meal, we a) typically have it after Thanksgiving so we can have it with our friends and family, and b) have a German farmers’ feast. It traditionally is made post-harvest with things not good enough to sell.

It consists of, left-to-right, red cabbage (on top the spicy fried red cabbage, below the sweet and sour stewed red cabbage), then the spaetzle, the sauerbraten with its gravy, and a jalapeño cheddar cornbread muffin (okay that’s not German, but it is awesome and went with it great). Below it the applesauce.
