Last night crossing the strait to Canada, we got caught in a squall. The wind jumped from 20 knots to 34 and beyond (I saw the wind meter as high as 38.6, but I was a bit busy), against a 3 knot tide giving us 6 to 8 foot waves.
Second reef line, sail bag zipper and pull cord got too friendly, so we couldn’t reef and couldn’t bring it down to even the second reefing point.
It got exciting for a while.
But afterwards the Sky was beautiful!
